Sea freight planned around your cargo.
Cost-effective ocean freight for imports and exports of any volume. We match the container, carrier and routing to your cargo, timing and destination, then manage the documents that keep it moving.
Full container or shared space?
We compare both when quoting. Routes, equipment and free time are set by the shipping line, so we confirm them for each booking.
| Item | Full container (FCL) | Shared container (LCL) |
|---|---|---|
| Best when | Cargo fills most of a 20' container, or speed and security matter | Volume is a few pallets or cubic metres |
| You pay for | The whole container | The space you use (per cubic metre or tonne) |
| Handling | Sealed at origin, opened at destination | Loaded with other cargo, handled at both consolidation points |
| Release | Container released to you or your haulier | Unpacked at a terminal before release |
| Free time | Set by the shipping line and terminal | Set by the consolidator and terminal |
Why free time matters
Shipping lines and terminals allow a limited number of free days after discharge. After that, demurrage and storage charges build daily. Having documents and payment ready before the vessel arrives is the most effective way to keep these costs down.
What sea freight covers.
Funteg moves full containers and shared-container cargo into and out of Nigeria, from booking to clearance at the Lagos port terminals and onward delivery.
Smaller volumes can share a container (LCL), and cargo from several suppliers can be consolidated so it arrives together. Routes, equipment and free time are confirmed for each booking.

Common questions.
All questionsShould I choose FCL or LCL?
LCL suits smaller volumes because you pay for the space you use. Once your cargo fills most of a 20' container, FCL is usually more economical and involves less handling. We compare both when quoting.
Which documents does sea freight need?
Usually a commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, plus any permits or approvals the goods need. Requirements vary by cargo and transaction. Contact Funteg before shipping for current guidance.
How much free time do I get?
Free time is set by the shipping line and the terminal and varies by carrier, equipment and agreement. We confirm it when booking and plan clearance and delivery inside it.
Container or shared space?
Send the volume and the supplier's location. We will compare FCL and LCL in the quote.
